DESIGNER - FARGO, ND

Indigo Signs is a custom sign company and has an excellent opportunity available for a Graphic Designer!

As a Designer, you will develop pre/post-sales designs to obtain and execute customer orders. This position is critical as it is responsible for creating designs and documents needed to set the company apart from other companies and get the sale. The designer will also create, manage, and update all documents related to the project post-sale, enabling us to execute the job seamlessly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accept design requests for secured job opportunities
  • Communicate effectively with sales staff and other team members to verify the accuracy of information.
  • Develop designs based on customer’s needs, budget, and best fabrication/installation practices
  • Stay fluent with design and industry trends
  • Maintain accuracy between final and sold designs
  • Update drawings to reflect changes and revisions
  • Work with production managers before fabrication on drawing details and notes

Consulting:

  • When required, help to develop construction methods and materials
  • Attend customer meetings, surveys, and walkthroughs as required and if needed
  • Provide consulting based on professional opinions and experience

Team Interaction:

  • Work with team on a wide variety of design needs that are presented daily
  • Collaborate with the estimating department, so job designs and budgets are integrated
  • Create designs based on best practices
  • Work with internal departments such as marketing and business development as needed on projects

Professionalism:

  • Persistent communication with all internal customers to ensure timely handoff of deliverables
  • Respond to sales/customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain a professional behavior in and out of the work environment regarding staff and vendors. To include emails, phone calls, written documents, meetings, etc. that are representative of the company

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform any appropriate duties assigned by the Director of Project Management/Design
  • Perform assigned duties with minimum personal supervision
  • Attend safety and company-wide meetings as required
  • Attend continuing education and training deemed necessary to ensure career growth

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Solid organizational skills: Able to multi-task and complete requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Resourceful: Can devise creative solutions to problems
  • Speaking: Talking to others to convey information effectively
  • Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Time Management: Managing one’s own time and reporting accurately
  • Background in detailing, construction, and fabrication
  • Knowledge of metalwork and sign manufacturing
  • Working knowledge and experience in field measurements
  • Understand and interpret drawings, specifications and be able to create drawings for fabrication
  • Strong math skills, aptitude for computer systems and apps, and acute attention to detail
  • Be able to identify and elaborate on the client’s design intent in relation to our scope of work
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
